Since I am so much a Rio nut, I decided to announce to the world that my latest Rio purchase came. The Nitrus's hard-skinned brother, the Eigen, comes in a 1.5GB flavor only. Upon arrival, I promptly removed it from it's b****-to-open packaging and plugged it into the outlet. The hardest part about this wasn't the wait for it to arrive, but for it's initial five hour charge, it sucks not being able to use it when you have it.

It is such a great feeling to have three (that's not all of my collection though) Rio's plugged into the same computer. Most people may think that it's a waste to have so many DAP's, especially of the same brand, but it is my passion.

I opted for the Eigen for a number of reasons:

The fact that it has a metal faceplate as apposed to the Nitrus's shiny plastic one.

The size of the player, wich to today's standards may be a bit bigger than needed, especially for only 1.5GB, but this player is a few years old (and was ahead of it's time then).

Rio was going down and my phobia of only ordering hard drive players directly from the manufacturer.

Overall I am happy with my purchase and I can't wait to hit the streets with it.
