Does the built in iSight on your new Mac freak you out a little? Maybe it's that little Orwellian eye winking at you with the promise of a future in which you loose all "working from home" credibility by accidentally showing off your barely-tied bathrobe and unkempt hair in the middle of a business meeting.
The iPeep is a quick hack that physically secures your Mac from unwanted video snooping and allows you to turn the tables on peering eyes.
Here are its main features:
- Security Mode: slide the iPeep slightly off-center so that it blocks your camera.
- Full Access Mode: slide the iPeep several inches to the side. Best used with combed hair and proper attire.
- Spook Mode: center the iPeep over the camera. Lean in and peek into the hole to freak out a would-be spy.
- Sweet Design: okay, maybe not. Matching color scheme?
Go ahead. You can make one in like 5 seconds. It may be a little tongue-in-cheek, but go ahead and laugh. Psychologically, it's working for me and I think I'm going to keep using it.
