Reznor offers a variety of options for new NIN album: Ghosts

After the release of Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D, a.k.a. Halo 25, the remixed version of Year Zero, Trent Reznor of NIN is officially free of the Interscope label. His next album, Ghosts I-IV, a.k.a. Halo 26 comes with a variety of free download and purchase options in multiple digital and physical formats, many exclusive to the Nine Inch Nails website:

For free you can download the first 9 tracks in DRM-Free High Bitrate MP3 Format. This is also available via BitTorrent.

For an amazing $5 you get a digtial download of all 36 tracks in DRM-Free High Bitrate MP3, FLAC, or Apple Lossless formats, along with a 40-page PDF book and a few extras in a ZIP archive. The MP3 version is also available for $5 from Amazon Music.

There are other options including a $10 preorder for 2 CDs (including immediate digital download mentioned above). There's a $75 preorder for 2 CDs, muti-track data DVD, and high-def (96/24 stereo) blu-ray disc, with immediate digital download. And there's also a $300 'Ultra-Deluxe' limited edition signed LP preorder which also includes everything in the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray package as well as an immediate digital download.

I of course opted for the FLAC download, but I've yet to successfully download the album because, as you can imagine, they're experiencing very high volume. Interestingly enough, their site apparently launched with zero press, yet experienced three times the traffic they anticipated. I'll report back once I've got it downloaded.

Hopefully the music industry will stand up and take notice.
