As a single bumbling foreigner in a sea of millions of Chinese people, you sometimes find it necessary to go to the only USA stronghold in the mainland-McDonald's.

I don't know exactly what it is that makes me long for home...but something about seeing children with fat, greasy, grubs all over their worthless plastic McToys just gets me misty.

Although I enjoy ThinkGeek's assorted t-shirts, accessories, and other miscellaneous geek items, I always encounter two problems:

1] A disproportionate amount of the items are for the malefolk

2] Many of the items meant for girls, are dare I say, a bit too geeky. We want to nod to our inner geek, not a wear a giant RAM chip hanging from a vending machine quality ball chain. Something tells me it is geek/gamer boyfriends who want us to don this blingy nerdwear of Mr. T proportions...

My aunt works for a state hospital. Like most of us wage slaves, she is required to attend meetings where there is a distribution of highly useful promotional items such as erasers, key chains, pencils, and fanny packs.

She received these coasters [yes, coasters. as in disks used for drink placement] in a meeting a couple of weeks ago, and passed them along to me. I think I can safely say they fall into the category of 'things that make you go huh'

color code is a language visualisation map of roughly 33,000 nouns. each noun is represented by a rectangle, whose color was chosen based off an image search. related nouns are grouped together forming clusters, through which you can zoom in and out. another function allows you to view an arrangement of nouns according to color. check it.
