Teaching Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

Haddon's novel has been chosen as the "common text" that all incoming 2005 first-year students at Seton Hall University (NJ) are to read. The following materials are to assist teachers and students in exploring The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.
The Internet has many, many, many sites about autism. I have included some sites below that I return to for basic information; these contain additional links to other sites. I included the DDDC site for a sense of a school for children with disabilities such as Christopher's. I've also included some links to online articles on and interviews with Haddon, as well as a brief list of books by ASD (autism spectrum disorder) individuals and by parents and professionals.
There are many, many books about autism, as you'll find in looking on Amazon.com; they range from "what to do if your child has autism" type of books for parents to memoirs by parents and autistic persons to (like Haddon's novel) fiction in which a character has autism. I refer to books and other online sites about autism on my blog, My Son Has Autism . (The My Thoughts blog is by a teenager with AS.) Please don't hesitate to contact me (via my website or email me) about autism, Haddon's novel, and any related concerns--I am always interested in knowing what you think.
Sincerely,
Kristina Chew

My Son Has Autism blog: Learning How To Learn

I just finished a post entitled "Learning How to Learn" which is about how we started our ABA education program for Charlie almost 6 years ago in St. Paul. There's a bit about Stella's role in getting Charlie started, too. See mysonhasautism.blogspot.com.
