Christmas Lights Animated Using Simple Electronics [C.L.A.U.S.E. Project] (Part 1)

V-VP-CarsonWilliams-WizardsInWinter.jpg As you all might remember I posted about Christmas Lights Transiberian Orchestra Style last December. You also might remember I said my wife wouldn't let me do it to our own house. She reconsidered and we will be doing it this year we have been planning it for a few months and I figured now that I am starting my assembly phase that I should document it as well as writing a tutorial on how to do it yourself.

The first thing you need to know is you need a light controller. One of the better companies out there that sell light controllers needed to run the displays is Light-O-Rama. They are easy to program using their software.

Another Item you will need, that is if you don't want to annoy your neighbors, is an FM Transmitter. Ramsey electronics has a good inexpensive FM Transmitter Kit the FM25B. I have recieved mine and put it together and it works great. A couple pictures of my completed transmitter are below.

I will be assembling my light controllers tommorow, Part 2 will be will be coming soon talking about the controller assembly.

[Update 10/16/2006]
