Sprinkler Control System

scs-main_screen.jpg

A while ago, my mechanical sprinkler timer died due to a power surge. And according to "mattcraigschultz" I am a true nerd, and in true nerd fasion what would I do with this problem. The non-Nerd might just go out and buy another one for 70 bucks, but no, I redesigned it to my own specifications.

I have gone through the design, Build and software stages of this project, and am Proud to say I am done.

Below details the System Requirments for the SCS software:

  • PIC18F4550 Microcontoller running at 4.194 MHz
  • 8.5 KB of Program Space
  • 0.7 KB of Ram
  • E-CTA* Video at 2x20
  • Plus sign keyboard with menu and enter Keys
  • 1 - Rain Switch Input Controller
  • 1 - Augmented Pump Output Controller or APOC
*Enhanced Character Text Adaptor

The main display Screen shown at the begining of the post, will be the status screen showing whether the system is in auto or manual mode, whether the pump is on or off, And how long it has been since it rained.

[more pictures to come later tonite.]
