1960s Commercial: Cock O' The Walk low calorie fruit cocktail

The commercial begins with two overweight twin women happily dancing around to a jingle that goes like this, "Rolly-polly you're gonna be eating all the sweet stuff with the high calories..."  The jingle goes on and a new shot comes in of the product -- Cock O' The Walk low calorie fruit salad.  Of course they have to show someone enjoying this low calorie snack so they have a skinny "weight-watching" man eating big scoops of peaches right out of the can.

This commercial is great!

I LOVE this commercial! I love just about everything retro, so this was right up my alley! I sure didn't find anything offensive about it, and I am sure the two young ladies who starred in this commercial didn't either. They were paid to do a job, and to showcase who and what they were to a select group. However, I am left wondering about the gentleman eating all that canned fruit. It probably took several takes to get it just right...maybe he spilled some of the heavy syrup from the spoon, or one of those roly-poly peaches went splat onto the table. In any case, I bet he was ready to puke after about the 10th take! After a hectic day of peach eating and dancing, one individual was yakking in the john, and the two lovely ladies were collecting their paychecks and heading out for a night on the town!
