I was checking out Open Source Mac, which provides free open-source software for Mac OS X, and came across Adium, which is an instant messaging application that combines all of your instant messengers into a single app.
I just downloaded Adium so I haven't thoroughly tested it out, but so far, I'm very pleased with what I've seen. Adium combines all of your contacts into one condensed list and uses tabbed messaging so all of your conversations are grouped into a single window and not cluttering up your desktop--These are two features I'm very pleased to see. One feature that will take some time to get used to is the 'quacking' sound set; If it becomes too annoying I can always switch to familiar sound sets such as AIM or MSN.
If you are interested in trying Adium, you can download it here. I may be late in the game so if you've already been using Adium I'd love to hear your critiques in the comments.
