Cup-O-Noodle creator, Momofuku Ando, died over the weekend at the age of 96.
Born in Taiwan in 1910 while it was under Japanese occupation, Momofuku Ando said he was inspired to develop the world's first instant noodle product during the US occupation of Japan after World War II.
After his chicken ramen product became hugely popular in 1958, he went on to create Cup-O-Noodle in 1971 - an idea he got from seeing Westerners eat the noodles out of styrofoam coffee cups.
