Due to years of underground iron ore mining, the town of Kiruna, Sweden has been seeing significant erosion in half of the towns foundations. Town officials have decided to move half of the town 2.5 miles away at the base of Luossavaara mountain.
It will be a long and arduous move that will span 40 to 50 years. Some buildings will be torn down and rebuilt and others will be taken down piece by piece and then reassembled.
