This 230-year-old tortoise died recently of liver damage in the Shanghai Zoo. It was originally found in Gejiu, Yunnan Province in 1971.
This rare tortoise species has only been found in two Chinese regions, the Jiangsu and Yunnan Provinces. Only 4 of this species remain in the world.
