The BabyKeeper, not really a keeper

Moms run tons of errands throughout the week and occasionally need to run to a dressing room to try on some clothes or a public restroom for a potty break.  If you don't have a friend along sometimes it can be difficult to do these things when you have your toddler with you.

Well, Mommysentials seems to think they have the solution:

The BabykeeperTM is a patent pending infant carrier style seat, that hangs from the stall wall in most public restrooms, and can also be used in many public fitting rooms.
I guess you could say it's similar to a Baby Bjorn or a Johnny Jump Up, but there's something about The Babykeeper that just seems wrong.

Being a mom myself, I know that most stores are equipped with large dressing rooms that will fit small to large strollers.  Restrooms shouldn't be a problem either because all restrooms are required to have handicap stalls that can fit strollers as well.  Most moms or dads will use a stroller (unless they are making a quick errand) so I don't see The Babykeeper as an essential product when your child can just remain in the stroller.

I hate to say this, but what are the chances of a mom or dad accidentally forgetting their child?  I know that sounds crazy, but don't be surprised to hear about it on your local evening news.

I'm probably reading too much into this product especially since I've never even tried it, but parents can certainly do without a product like this.

If you're reading this and think The BabyKeeper is a must-have, prove me wrong and leave a comment.

Maybe

Maybe it's for the super-shopper mom who needs the whole dressing room with all her clothes to try on and the kid keeps grabbing at the clothes while in the stroller and drops them on the floor and causes annoyance with the mom who can't try on her clothes and wishes she could just "hange him up" on the hook.

But the real solution should be: Leave them at home :)

exactly

i'm not a huge clothes shopper so maybe that's why i can't relate to spending a lot of time in the dressing room. i have to agree with you, jessi, about leaving them at home if you really intend on doing a full day of shopping -- it can't be fun for the kiddo.

Excatly!

Plus wouldn't you want to take that time to yourself anyway? I know I would!
