Being a Wisconsin native, I had to make a post about Weird Wisconsin.  Weird Wisconsin posts stories about strange happenings around the state.

Weird Wisconsin's mission statement:

When you think of Wisconsin, it's the smoky tang of bratwurst sizzling on the grill, foam cheddarheads, Friday night fish frys or fish boils, the Green Bay Packers or Milwaukee Brewers, herds of holsteins or guernsey cows grazing in meadows, blaze-orange-wearing deer hunters, rippling fields of grain stretching to the horizon, the Dells, snowmobiling, camping or hiking in our myriad state parks, the wild expanses of the Nicolet or Chequamegon forests, Oktoberfest in La Crosse, the State Fair ..

However, beneath this mundane reality lies something more mysterious, sinister, macabre. The outright weird comports with everyday reality, yet because this weirdness is seldom collated or even mentioned in contemporary media outlets, few know the true extent of The Weirdness That Lurks All Around Us.

This is the mission of this website; to collate the weirdness, to call attention to otherwise anomalous events or people; to label and perhaps explain unexplained phenomena; to invigorate the imagination; to celebrate the uniqueness of the Wisconsin State of Being; to rescue us from the Creeping Monotony so much of America seems bent on becoming.

Remember, when you are in Wisconsin "you are among friends."  There are only friendly ghosts in Wisconsin.
