World of Warcraft Unfinished Area

Okay, so I've been a really obsessed with this game called World of Warcraft. Maybe you've heard of it? So anyway, this latest patch integrated a thing called "Battlegrounds," of which the premise is either (depending on which you goto) to defeat the enemy, or capture their flag. So I was in the CTF area playing when my crappy dial up died and I was disconnected. On returning to the game, the battleground had ended, and my dial up promptly crapped out once again. With the way that WoW works, it loads the previous state on the server, and that saved one was still of me in the Battleground. Normally this would be fine, but the BG is an INSTANCE meaning that it's a seperate area that you load into. Upon logging in once again, I found myself in the air, and falling quite a bit down, except I was on a totally different part of the continent!

The area I was in was an area that is inaccessible from the outside world. Blizzard actually built a wall in-game that blocks all travellers from going to this area. After looking at my map, I was PAST this wall! So I decided to look around and I saw some very weird things such as an extremely tall, skinny wall, and places where textures would just suddenly change. Check out the pictures! If you wanna contact me in-game, I'm on the Terenas server with the character name Ayoshen.

Pictures of the Area

Note to Blizzard: Don't ban me for this! It wasn't even purposeful. And it wouldn't even be possible at my level to get here with exploits, since that whole zone is for level 60s and I'm level 21. So *pbbbt*!

revisit?

great write-up! pretty cool that you were able to stumble upon that unfinished area. will you be able to get back to this area at any time or was it a one-time deal?

Can you repeat it?

That's really interesting. Do you think this region of the map is being developed for future use? Perhaps it's backdrop (mountains and such) that only is meant to be viewed from a distance.

It would be interesting to see if this glitch is repeatable. Perhaps a number of people could 'fall' off the board and go on a little camping trip in the hills.

Area

I looked this up, and it is eventually going to be a huge instance, but not for quite awhile, and is currently under development. I MIGHT be able to repeat this, could try it out...I'll keep ya updated.

You should be OK

This used to happen a lot in Alpha and Beta. They didn't purposely build "walls" -- I believe it's just part of the architecture of the game. As you know in WoW there is a vertical variance in the game, you could be high on a hill then have to walk down. Or you can be at "ground level" then swim down into a lake.

The "walls" are really just because you have been put in a place that is at a different level... and due to lack of content there, they appear sheer.

As long as you've reported the incident they shouldn't get you for "exploiting" etc.

It's pretty fun to be "outside" of the world eh? :)

Totally possible to get there

I've been here before. You can walk up a ridge in southeastern most Silithus, through the corner, and down into where those screens are.

seen some

There are many areas like this. i've personally seen this before as well. There is a way a gnome can fall "off" stormwind and land on the ground. From there, you can walk all the way east to an incomplete area. There's also this interesting croc that just floats there...

Try to find it ;D

seen the croc

i've seen the croc before, by seeing thru the ground. looks kinda scary!

i think your warping zones

i think your warping zones and "seeing" into the higher level instance that kills the monster in the sewer...you can see the entrance to that instance in the canal zone in between trade district and old town

The place in southern

The place in southern silithis called Ahn Qiraj, its the home of the silithids and their masters. An unfinished area as you see, that houses at least 1 instance somewhere. there are many more unfinished areas like it around the world.

I believe that you however were simply in the random land that makes up the borders between zones. It's all over the place. pity you couldn't have seen the temples and the hives in Ahnqiraj...

Note to Blizzard: I didn't read the NDA

Blizzard wont delete the account for entering the non-complete zone.. However we all sign a contract with every update. The pictures may be bland enough to save the account but the posting it on the web, and getting noticed is a receipe for an example to be made.

Good luck I hope you are online after blizzard catches on of this site :P (don't get me wrong, if it happened to me I would do the same!

aww blizzard needs to

aww blizzard needs to lighten up if they are gonna be so uptight about the whole thing, we arent building nuclear bombs here....key word for me and the reeason i spend the ton of money is GAME

Exploration - The Move

You guys think this is cool, check out:

Enjoy.

For the HORDE!

I have been there several

I have been there several times... If you swim to the southern bank of Tanaris past the pirates and turtles you can climb up the bank and over the mountains below Un'Goro and Silithus. There is an area where there are (What looks like) a white cut-off pillar, do not jump onto it or you will fall (What seems to be) an endless fall. I am a hunter myself and using "Eyes of the Best" I jumped onto the pillar using my pet and it went out of casting range before the bottom. If you keep swimming west you will eventualy come to a secluded/secret deep deep cave and horde camp. (Before trying this, change Gadgetzan to your home incase you get stuck.)

This is just a general

This is just a general reply, not to yours but i was reading all these posts and when you mentioned the instance, i just remember AQ...the pictures kinda look like AQ actually of what ive seen from it but its awesome you got there in development :)

below silithus

I know this comment is late to the game but I recently played on a private server in which we were given flying mounts on Azeroth, and I went to this area because I had read about it here - and I saw that broken unfinished wall area you posted pics of, but also more centrally under the AQ instances, there is a completely finished nice outdoor ruins area. It's crazy. A shame that so many places have things like that and they are never used.
