Brawny Academy

Brawny Man and Jason The Brawny paper towel folks took 8 deadbeats and sent them away to "Brawny Academy,"  where they get schooled on romance, chivalry, and the respectful side of manliness from the Brawny Man himself.

I launched the 1st webisode yesterday and Brawny Man stopped by to thank me.  I know it looks like I'm smiling in this photo, but it's really my face being pulled back from his death grip on my neck -- seriously, the guy has a kung-fu gorilla handshake.  I'm sure it was just a little reminder that I've been working too hard and not paying enough attention to my lovely wife and family.

Check it out and tell your friends.  A new episode goes up every two weeks, and I think you guys will really get a kick out of it.

quick clarification

a couple people have asked about my involvement with brawny academy. just to clear things up, no, i'm not in the show. i'm the developer/tech guy on the project, and i'm just one of a whole bunch of really cool and talented people involved (check the credits on the brawny academy home page). if you dig (or hate) the way the video player functions, if the site works great or busts in your favorite web browser, and if updates happen flawlessly (or the site goes down in the middle of an update), that was probably me.

and yes, brawny man did really thank me. nice guy, that brawny man.

The Brawney Guy

Yeah he is a nice guy. Im happy to see he made it somewhere with Acting. He has not been doing it long but to see him in this venture of a online reality show is very impressive. From VP-45 Naval Pilot to Brawney Man.

hi. i saw the episodes online with my girlfriend who i inted to marry, but not until she goes through something like what the guys had to go through on the show. what i want to know, is there going to be a mrs. brawny man show. she'll definitely be a good candidate for it. let me know if this idea makes any sense.

hi. i was so take in by the show that i had to watch it all over again with my girlfriend. the thing is i'm the one who feels like she could be a little more caring, considerate and be better at homemaking. i was wondering what you guys would think of making a mrs. brawny man show. where the ladies who are not really good in the kitchen, at cleaning and so on can learn how to do things like that. what you think.

The Brawny Man is a Fraud

His first name is John. He's ex-Navy and worked in dinner theater before Brawny. He recently dumped his girlfriend telling her, "you're too happy all the time." I've been around him a bit and found him to be a bit arrogant.

Is this for real?

I'm hopelessly drawn to these episodes, and I've watched 1-7. Question. Are these guys all actors or is it legit in terms of having 6 random guys compete in this, what, reality commercial?

J has told me that these guys are legit, which is probably why you are so drawn to this episodes--they are real guys showing real emotions. if you've already seen the 7th episode you will notice there was a little twist with the guys--i don't want to ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet.

It's real

As you found out in episode 6, two of the campers were "moles" or paid actors that were put there to challenge and push the other six guys. Brawny Man, obviously, is also playing a role. The six remaining guys, however, are real men who were signed up for the camp by their wives and girlfriends. From what I understand, they didn't even know it was created by Brawny until they arrived at camp and met the Brawny Man.

Stay tuned for the EP8 launch on monday the 25th! It's good, I promise.

Yeah, I've seen all the available episodes, so I know about the moles. I was curious if the other guys were legit, and it sounds like they are.

i think there should be a mrs. brawny man show. there are a few women out there who need to learn how to keep a home and go through what it takes to make a happy marriage (relationship). i think the show would be a good idea. let me know what you think.
