Charging USB Cable For Nextel Phones

This is for those of you who just want a connection to Download, games, ringtones, or even use your phone as a laptop modem. This Cable will also charge your phone through your USB port.

If you already have a USB cable that doesn'g charge just add a wire from the 5 volt pin to pin 3.

THIS WILL NOT WORK FOR GPS.

It appears that you have +Data and -Data lines reversed. USB-2 should go to CELL-5 and USB-3 should go to CELL-4.

I should add too that I have a 30K resistor from pins 1 to 2, and also pin 6 should be connected to the Vcc +5 V line as well.

Kinda real old at this

Kinda real old at this point, but I wonder if the GPS functionality is purely limited by the softare version on the phone? Cause I have a newer i425 here which just has a mini-usb connection on it but otherwise shows up identical as any other nextel phones with the classic usb cable here, uses same drivers, etc.. But the i425 seems perfectly capable of outputting NMEA data over the port used by the 'usb modem' when it's set in the GPS menu. In fact I've used it repeatedly with my laptop for navigation and the GPS receiver is damned good when you have a clear shot to the sky.
