Toilet water cleaner than ice in fast food restaurants

toilet studyA 12-year old from Tampa, Florida discovered that, 70 percent of the time, toilet water found in fast food restaurants is cleaner than the ice from the soda machines inside the same restaurants. 

Jasmine's study included 5 fast food restaurants within a ten-mile radius of the University of South Florida.  Although the study group is small, I'm sure we would find similar results throughout the nation.  It's not exactly something I would like to think about, but good to know.

i've heard about the fecal matter as well. i wonder if putting a plastic protector over your toothbrush and than placing it in a drawer would work--has to be better than just leaving it out in the open. maybe closing the lid on the toilet before every flush would help as well? who knows... can't protect yourself from everything i guess.
