Image of Jesus on the Cross Found in Woman's Ultrasound

I have to agree, it does look like Jesus on the cross! That would totally put me at peace if it were my ultrasound. I had a similar experience when I was pregnant which is why I think I like this story in particular.

Jason left you hanging with all the details of our son's birth so I'm sure all of you have been waiting in suspense all week to know more. You probably couldn't eat, sleep or concentrate on work. My apologies!

To all of our surprise, Simon was delivered a little over a week early. He weighed in at 7 pounds and is perfect. He's definitely a keeper. We are a little sleep deprived, but enjoying having Simon in our lives.

Busy having a baby

Wanted to let everyone know that things are going to be pretty slow here for a few days. Stella and I had a baby son yesterday. He is 7 pounds and awesome. More details to follow when we get home from the hospital.

Update: Apparently, these photos were photoshopped by a number of people. The baby depicted in the photos has been dubbed Crazy Mean Baby.

Moms run tons of errands throughout the week and occasionally need to run to a dressing room to try on some clothes or a public restroom for a potty break. If you don't have a friend along sometimes it can be difficult to do these things when you have your toddler with you.

Here is a photo of my new niece, Siena Terese. She was born on September 28 weighing in at 8lbs 2oz and measuring 19 3/4 inches long.

My good friends also had a baby! On September 22, Joseph John was born weighing in at 7lbs 10oz and measuring 20 inches long.

We'll be visiting both babes this weekend in Wisconsin. I wonder if Zach will teach them how to be naughty.

This weekend will be full of babies, babies, babies!

The Fat Kid Epidemic: Car seats are inadequate for overweight children

Zach outgrew his infant car seat and needed an upgrade. While purchasing a new car seat for him over a month ago, we noticed how ginormous they have become--Here's why:

Many young children are too heavy for standard car-safety seats, and manufacturers are starting to make heftier models to accommodate them, according to research on the obesity epidemic’s widening impact.

More than a quarter of a million U.S. children ages 1 to 6 are heavier than the weight limits for standard car seats, and most are 3-year-olds who weigh more than 40 pounds, the study found.

At the store, we didn't notice any car seats on the smaller side. Zach is a little guy and looked like a tiny peanut in all of the car seats available. I understand heftier car seats need to be made readily available, however, continue to make car seats suitable for smaller cars.

At least he can use the new Lazy-Boy sized seat for awhile before he outgrows it.

New Niece Lauren

Two weeks ago my new niece was born her name is Lauren Emily and last name starts with D. So her initails are L.E.D. and myself being an electrical engineer, I know what to do about this. She is so going to hate me.

But enough of that, isn't she cute. I think so, I haven't seen her yet except for these pictures but I will be seeing her for chrismas. Almost makes me want to have one of my own right now.. actually I hope its a few years yet till that happens.

Mommy Blues

I go back to work in less than a month and I’m feeling a bit nervous. We decided not to do daycare and will hopefully figure out a schedule where one of us can be home watching Zach while the other is working. Even though we’ve made this arrangement, and knowing that he’ll be in good hands, I can’t help but feel that I’m going to be abandoning our son.

Breastfeeding while driving

A mother, co-worker and I were talking the other day and somehow got on the topic of breastfeeding. I don't know where the mom heard the story, but supposedly a truckdriver had spotted a woman breastfeeding while driving on the highway. I've never heard of such a thing, but my co-worker was saying that it happens quite regularly. I searched for this topic online and came up with quite a few results. Here are a couple that I found:

Here is a story about an Ohio mom who was caught breastfeeding while driving. The crazy thing about this story is that because she belongs to an organization called the First Christian Fellowship for Eternal Sovereignty she has to follow every order her husband gives her. Her husband had instructed her to breastfeed their baby while driving in order to save time.
