Parents granted permission to name son 'Lego'

A couple in Sweden have been given permission to name their son 'Lego'.

Couples in Sweden have previously run into trouble with officials over the names Ikea, Veranda, Metallica and the use of Elvis for a girl.

But the Swedish Administrative Court of Appeals has now overruled an earlier decision to stop a couple naming their child after the brightly coloured plastic building blocks.

In Swedish law, offensive, unsuitable or inappropriate names are all forbidden, as well as names that could embarrass the people they are given to.

Art lover may pay $2M in damages for passionate kiss

Sam Rindy is a self-professed art lover who may pay up to $2M in damages for kissing a Yvon Lambert work of art. Rindy's kiss left red lipstick on the white painting.

Rindy, an artist of Cambodian origin, has said she was "overcome with passion" when she saw the painting hanging on a gallery wall in July 2007. "This woman is profoundly upset. She was overcome by an emotion that she could not tame," her lawyers, Patrick Gontard Jean-Michel Ambrosino, told the court, describing the kiss as an "act of love."

Paying millions in damages seems a bit ridiculous to me, but seriously, Miss Rindy, keep your lips to yourself.
