Check out this NES controller groom's cake:

Neatorama reader Chris Marshall aka Bix got married on July 12th (Congrats, Bix!) and got this awesome re-creation of an old school NES controller as a groom’s cake.

The cake was made by Anika Kline from "Cakes by Anita" and the photo was taken by Maria from IQFoto.

Mother's Day is this Sunday and what I would really like is a working giant NES controller coffee table. As if a working giant NES controller isn't cool enough, the table opens up to provide ample storage for all of your stuff.

The NES coffee table was built by Kyle Downes of the "Ultra Awesome" blog.

Awesome Cardboard Art

I don't remember what I was looking for or who's page I found this blog on, but I thought it was awesome. I can't wait to find a really nice thick piece of cardboard and try this technique out myself. I always wanted little question marked boxes above my head (even if I can't actually headbutt them and get something that makes me spew fireballs...) LINK.

PETA serves up Kentucky Fried Cruelty

PETA put together an online game called Super Chick Sisters, starring Pamela Anderson as the damsel in distress, in order to raise our awareness of Kentucky Fried Chicken's cruelty to chickens. Play the game and tell me what it reminds you of. I'm sure Nintendo is loving this game.

22-month-old boy kicks butt at Wii Sports

Here is a video of a 22-month-old boy playing Wii Sports tennis. Watch how he hits the ball with accuracy and figures out how to skip the instant replay by using his Wii-mote. Besides being a kick ass Wii tennis player, he also has some killer ninja skills.

Video game guru wants to bring joy to gaming

Top Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto wants to bring joy rather than violence to the gaming industry.

"I always want that first reaction to be emotion, to be positive - to give a sense of satisfaction, glee," Miyamoto told thousands of developers attending the annual Game Developer Conference here. "Certain obstacles may temporarily raise feelings of suspense, competition, even frustration. But we always want that final result, that final emotion, to be a positive one."

Known as "the Stephen Spielberg of video games", Miyamoto is best known for creating "The Legend of Zelda" and "Mario Brothers".

Chocolate Wii-mote

Balakov created a chocolate Wii-mote and nunchuck controller by using the plastic packaging of the controllers as the molds. The chocolate controllers are stuffed with sponge fingers.

Mario themed high school dance

Needham Broughton High School found a way to make their geeks feel right at home at their "Queen of Hearts" dance with a Super Mario Bros. theme.

The dance included a skit where Mario and Luigi rescue the queen from the castle.

"The Office" Miis

Over at Life in the Office, a fansite for the popular TV show "The Office", a contest was held to see who could make the best Miis that resembled the characters on the show the most. [via The Archer Bus]

I was unimpressed with the Miis I saw on Life in the Office when I saw what these guys did in one Saturday afternoon. The titles of "The Office's #1 Fan" and "The Office Fan Club President" should definitely go to these guys.
