2-year-old skateboarder

2-year-old skater Zach grabbed Jason's skateboard from the garage the other day and  has been wanting to learn how to skate.  So far he's coasting up and down our sidewalk with ease and seems to be a natural.  Before he expressed interest I was thinking it may be at least a couple more years before we start teaching him how to skate, but apparently we are a year behind.  Check out this 2-year-old skateboarder.  Link.

Trapped in an elevator for 41 hours

trapped in an elevator On a Friday evening in October 1999 Nicholas White, a production manager, was working late and decided to take a smoke break.  Little did he know it would be the longest smoke break of his life.

The magazine’s offices were on the forty-third floor of the McGraw-Hill Building, an unadorned tower added to Rockefeller Center in 1972. When White finished his cigarette, he returned to the lobby and, waved along by a janitor buffing the terrazzo floors, got into Car No. 30 and pressed the button marked 43. The car accelerated. It was an express elevator, with no stops below the thirty-ninth floor, and the building was deserted. But after a moment White felt a jolt. The lights went out and immediately flashed on again. And then the elevator stopped.
White was stranded in the elevator for 41 hours.  In that time White tried everything he could do to escape and even imagined his death.  Not having any way to tell if it was day or night or even what time it was would drive a person insane.

The Price is Wrong: Woman bids one dollar... under?

woman bids one dollar under on the price is right Sometimes the trick to winning at The Price is Right is to bid one dollar over the last person bidding.  This woman must have had a major brain fart because she bid one dollar under the last bid.  I actually feel sorry for her because she thought she won not once, but twice!  Kim never made it to the stage.  Link.

numnah
13-year-old Sameer Mishra of West Lafayette, Indiana, won the 2008 Scripps National Spelling Bee by correctly spelling the word "guerdon."  Sameer beat out first time spelling bee competitor Sidharth Chand.

Sameer was definitely the funny one of the bunch almost mistaking "numnah" for "numbnut."    Hopefully someone will have that footage up on YouTube soon.

Update: Break.con posted the "numb nut" incident.  Link to video.
