My Fake Baby, a documentary about 'reborns'

My Fake Baby is a documentary that explores the lives of women who collect and care for life-like designer dolls called "reborns". The reborns are customized to the owners' specifications. The dolls can be made to have beating hearts, scratches, milk spots, specific hair colors, and open ears and nostrils -- just to name a few.

Although some "mothers" admit to missing out on their reborns interacting witth them like real babies, they will say that reborns are perfect because they don't scream or make a fuss like real chidren.

Whether it's replacing a lost child or being lazy in wanting to care for a real child, I find this very disturbing. I never enjoyed playing with dolls even when I was a little girl so to see grown women caring for such life-like dolls like real babies seems very sad to me.

Boy had spiders living in his ear

Nine-year-old Jesse Courtney from Oregon was complaining of a "Rice Krispie" popping sound in his ear. What started as a faint popping sound, the "snap, crackle and pop" turned into an ear ache.

When the doctor irrigated the Jesse's ear, a dead spider fell out as well as a live one. Apparently, Jesse had two spiders crawling around on his eardrum. The spiders were about the size of a pencil eraser.

458 BC: The Greek playwright Aeschylus was killed when an eagle dropped a live and apparently very savage tortoise on him, mistaking his bald head for a stone.

1671: François Vatel, chef to Louis XIV, committed suicide because his seafood order was late and he couldn't stand the shame of a postponed meal. His body was discovered by an aide, sent to tell him of the arrival of the fish.

My Twinn: Creepy dolls made to look like you

At My Twinn little girls (or boys) can create dolls that look like themselves.

Having never been a real fanatic for dolls, I find this slightly creepy. I'd be afraid the doll would come to life, pose as me and take over the world. Now that wouldn't be good.
