Kristian Von Hornsleth's exhibit which will display pictures of Ugandans from the village of Buteyongera has sparked controversy.

In exchange for a pig or a goat, Hornsleth is persuading the villagers to adopt his name. 100 villagers already have identity documents with their new names and 207 more are currently having documents processed. Eventually, he would like to change the village's name.

Although the villagers back Hornselth's exhibit, others feel that Hornsleth's idea is "demeaning" and "racist".

"After 50 years of Third World aid, Africa is still poor," Hornsleth told the BBC's World Today programme.

He said his proposal to the villagers was an example of free trade, which left the villagers better off.

But Ugandan Ethics Minister Nsaba Buturo said the idea was "demeaning" and "racist".

"He is playing on the plight of some of our people by telling them a lie - by giving them a piglet, they will come out of the poverty he says they are in," the minister said.

Australian artist, Nike Savvas created an art piece titled Atomix - Full of Love, Full of Wonder consisting of over 50,000 suspended polystyrene balls which 'shimmer' with the wind of 10 fans.  Ms. Savvas was inspired both by French artist George Seurat and her homesickness for the Australian outback.

From November 4 to 12, the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis is hosting the Red Bull Art of the Can exhibition.

The Red Bull Art of the Can is a nationwide hunt for creativity and is open to everyone, from fulltime artists to cimply those with a creative flare.  Build, sculpt, weld, glur, hammer, bend, fold, print, tape and paint.  Whatever!

Be bold!  Send a message!  Make a Statement.  Your primary material must be a Red Bull can but you will need to add plenty of imagination and creativity.  Make a sculpture, a picture, a 3-D model, a mobile, a video or piece of modern art but make it beautiful, colorful, clever, amusing or outrageous.
