All South Park episodes available online for free

South Park Studios has made every South Park episode ever made available online for absolutely free and uncensored.  The minor downside of "free" is that you have to sit through three short ads during each episode.  Link [via]

New York Times online now free

The New York Times has announced that they will no longer be charging for for access to parts of its website.

The move comes two years to the day after The Times began the subscription program, TimesSelect, which has charged $49.95 a year, or $7.95 a month, for online access to the work of its columnists and to the newspaper’s archives. TimesSelect has been free to print subscribers to The Times and to some students and educators.

In addition to opening the entire site to all readers, The Times will also make available its archives from 1987 to the present without charge, as well as those from 1851 to 1922, which are in the public domain. There will be charges for some material from the period 1923 to 1986, and some will be free.

Free $20 from Paypal & eBay

Just in time for Christmas I received a $20.00 credit in my paypal account today.

it came in form of a transfer stating: Thank you for participating in PayPal's Holiday Promotion. You received this $20 rebate by making a qualifying purchase of $50 or more. We appreciate your business. Stay tuned for more exciting promotions in 2007 by visiting www.paypal.com!

I did not enter a coupon code or a discount with either site, but there was the money in my account. Anyone have any information on if this will repeat with multiple purchases? In any case, I thought I should pass this along to other eBay Christmas shoppers out there.

iSketch

iSketch may be my newest online addiction.  If you enjoy playing games like Pictionary, you will love iSketch.  It's a free online game where you can join topic-based rooms such as "Around the House" or "TV Shows" and guess the word the  designated user is drawing.  Each user has an opportunity to draw a word and all users have multiple opportunities to guess the word.  It's a great interactive game that all can enjoy.  Check it out!

This Ol' Windoze User's Switch to Ubuntu

Backstory
About a month ago, I was fed up with Windows. I hated having crashes all the time, security flaws cropping up every hour on the hour, having to pay for software, and everything else the closed-source community embraces (and by community, I mean industry). Two years ago, I tried to switch totally to Mandrake 10. This only lasted a week or so. The main problem? Lack of good package management.

I was told by a friend (noogz) that Ubuntu was a good distribution of Linux, so I downloaded the 5.10 Preview Release, and got it all set up. What follows is an account of all the steps taken until now. It is totally true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent (not really). Full story after the break!
