Maker Faire: Life-Sized Mousetrap

Life-sized MousetrapOver at the Maker Faire there was a life-sized Mousetrap.  Although the ball needed some coaxing down the flight of stairs the first first time I watched, it still managed to work better than its gameboard version from when we were younger.  The second demonstration that I saw flowed flawlessly.

I didn't have a good view so I didn't take a video, but here is a video I found on Youtube taken at the Faire.  This is one of the times where the bowling ball needed some help down the stairs.

Tetris shelving for your home

tetris shelvingImagine the fun you could have with the Brave Space Design Tetrad Mega Shelving.  Now this is what I call Tetris reality gaming -- with an expensive pricetag.

Tetris Vandalism

Tetris broken windows While walking around Denver, this guy noticed a building that had several broken windows.  As he continued to stare at this building he noticed that the broken windows were in the shapes of tetrominoes

I don't like vandals as much as the next guy, but at least it's Tetris creative.

Update:  Turns out the Tetris Vandalism photo is a fake.  Over at Kotaku, they have posted real photos of the vandalized building.  [via digg]

Reality video gaming

Reality Tetris
I swear, somebody is snooping in on my instant messages. I was just talking with a friend about doing a video spoof of real-life pong or tetris. But I’m too late. The folks over at Mega64 posted a video of a human sized Tetris L block ambling about a suburban neighborhood.

There have been a rash of ‘reality’ gaming videos lately, including BoingBoing’s recent Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto posts, though my personal favorite is still the Chappelle Show version of GTA.
