Back from Sydney

Well, I'm back from NCSS, it was great fun.  I should write a more complete report when I get around to it.

Highlights:

Going to Microsoft HQ and having nothing they demoed work.
Pizza Dinner at Microsoft emulating the XBOX360 Launch: Heat Issues and not enough to go around :D
Trivia Night
TSP

All-in-all a good week.

Last Post before Holiday

Well... if my prediction serves me correctly, this is my last blog post before I go away to Sydney, to participate in NCSS 2006.  I'll get back to you whenever I get free time, with the hope of posting some photos and messages for home.

Cya all!

Syndication, and other tidbits

So... now for the general-purpose update post in which I talk about stuff in general... Enjoy:

My Website:
I said in a previous post that I had established my first proper domain name, noogz.net, well the first proper site to occupy it is up and running, and can now be viewed at the previous link.  I've more-or-less decided on the basic content, but it's not complete.  The first is a syndication of my BlogCadre Blog (yay), the second is the generic "about me" page that occupied my old site.  I have also opened my Planet Aggregation to the general public.  So, please take a look!

My Blog
Well... I'm hoping to really get back into the swing of things regarding my blog, I have the intention of posting many /.able posts within the next year: we may be lucky :), but I also hope to post general life posts: sorry to bore the people who read through the 'Cadre, but that's the problem with having a multipurpose syndicated blog.

My Life
Still on summer holidays, and as such, everything is going quite slowly.  I'm off to Sydney again on Sunday, to enjoy the National Computer Science School at the University of Sydney (who also ran the recent SEARCC comp that I was involved with)... I'll be blogging a lot whilst away (since it seems to be a good way to keep in touch).

Well... I'm less than a minute before the syndication script runs again, so I'd better finish off here.

Cya!

Domained

Yay... I finally bought my first domain name: noogz.net

Feel happy for me.

My plans for the address consist mostly of making it a permanent viewing point for my blog (using a syndicated RSS feed - I don't plan on dropping the 'Cadre), as well as other useful stuff...

Hey!

It's been a case of long time, no see...

I've been slightly busy over the past few weeks, and haven't had that much time for blogging, so I suppose I should do a quick update on what I've been doing with the past month-ish.

First up has been a quite major update of the Download Index, GoldFiles.com, to be comprised entirely of PHP scripts reading off a MySQL database. The viewing frontend is basically complete, however, the backend is done entirely with phpMyAdmin at the moment, so I'll be developing a backend for that, alongside a developer submission system, which will occur in the near future :).

Last Day before SEARCC '05

Well, it's just over 10 months since last year's SEARCC International Schools' Software Competition ended in Chennai, India. That was a good time - I recall it being one of the more interesting experiences of my life, and so I was very glad to be called up to the 2005 team to represent Australia.

Given that this year's comp is in Sydney, I doubt that it's going to be nearly as much of a culturally unique experience as compared with last year, but I still expect it to be fun. Meeting up with competitiors from last year (if we're lucky), seeing a part of my own country that I've never seen will hopefully be enjoyable.

Blog Entry, 19-09-2005

Well... It's the Third Full week of September, and that can only mean one thing... It's third term :(

School went back today... Oh well... But it was a good enough day. Not much really to report on here.

7 Days until we depart for the SEARCC in Sydney.
