Silverfish Hand Catch

If you haven't been browsing under a rock for the last two days, it's likely you've been watching an impressive campaign running across Facebook, Twitter and Youtube featuring the Old Spice Guy delivering, in almost real-time, personalized messages to just about anyone that asks him a question.

In the final video, he signs off with the phrase "Silverfish hand catch." I could be reading too much into this, but I'm wondering if this was intentionally written in not only for its humorous, non-sequitur punch, but as a unique tracking phrase. It's not so easy to misspell, and googling the phrase in quotes (and paging to where repeat posts get cut off) provides a quick-and-dirty mechanism for seeing how many people have blogged about a specific detail of the campaign.

Perhaps we'll see random phrases become a part of every viral video campaign.

Viral Ad About Teen Pregnancy

This viral ad was produced by the Leicester Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Partnership to stem teen pregnancies. It was pulled from YouTube, but seems to be back up.

It sure is shocking, but will it prevent girls from getting pregnant? Doubtful.

angry whopper Update:  Facebook has ditched Whopper Sacrifice due to privacy issues.  Link to article.

Burger King unveiled their new Angry Whopper which includes spicy crispy onions, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, and spicy Angry Sauce.  Jumping on the Facebook bandwagon, Burger King has developed a Facebook application called Whopper Sacrifice to help promote their spicy product.

So, how does it work?

If you want a free Whopper you need to ditch 10 of your Facebook friends.  The friends that you ditch will receive an alert informing them that you sacrificed their friendship for a stinkin' Whopper.

Can you resist the power of the Whopper?

Samsung's secret viral campaign revealed!

Samsung's Viral Campaign
Samsung has this new 'viral' campaign running right now where a bunch of people stare out your monitor and a big countdown is ticking down.  What are they announcing?  What is everyone looking at?  What momentous, world altering event is going to happen in 3 days?

Well, rather than pee my pants in anticipation like I did with Microsoft's frustrating Origami buzz balogna, I decided to do a little hacking and uncover the big secret.  Let me just tell you, it's absolutely awesome and groundbreaking.

I know you guys can't possibly wait, so here's the big secret:

Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah!

ChrismahanukwanzakahIn response to robogeek's rant regarding holiday political correctness, I thought I'd mention the Chrismahanukwanzakah viral ad that I've been working on.  It's primarily a cell phone advertisement, but you'll find it's heavily mixed with a holiday helping of seasonal satire.

Yeah, it's a bit offensive, but it's nice to see that some people aren't taking things so seriously when this season is arguably designed to celebrate consumerism rather than any particular religious event.

Not that that's a bad thing, but let's call it what it is (just don't try spelling it).
