German scientist Daryoush Bazargani invented a pillow which will adjust your head while you sleep if it detects you are snoring. 

"The pillow is attached to a computer, which is the size of a book, rests on a bedside table, and analyses snoring noises," Bazargani told Reuters.

"The computer then reduces or enlarges air compartments within the pillow to facilitate nasal airflow to minimize snoring as the user shifts during sleep," he said.

The new system has been developed on NEC's prototype robot PaPeRo, and is initialized when a user begins a conversation with PaPeRo about the events of their day, which the system then records and analyzes. Following this, PaPeRo searches for suitable multi-media contents on the internet, including images, illustrations and music, which are automatically uploaded and edited along with the video recording on the user's blog. This new system facilitates ease of multi-media-rich blog creation.The novel system has been realized by integrating (1) large-vocabulary, continuous speech recognition technology, which converts the speech content of the video message into text and extracts important keywords, and (2) natural language, text retrieval technology, which enables searching of contents on the internet.

PLEN is a desktop hobby robot made in Japan that can balance on a proportional skateboard and rollerskate on its own.   It has 18 joints which are controlled remotely by a Bluetooth phone and keeps a charge up to 25 minutes at a time.

College students have created a parallel parking device that attaches to the underbody of a car.  The device lifts the backside of the car and rolls the rear smoothly into the parking space.
