Illustrator Jen Wang has made the in-flight safety demo look graceful and somewhat lyrical by this illustration called Dance of the Flight Attendant.  Unless you are flying on a smaller plane, this "art form" is slowly going away and being replaced by in-flight videos.

First we had snakes on a plane and now a scorpion. 

On a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Vermont, David Sullivan was stung twice by a stow-away scorpion. 

"My right leg felt like it was asleep, but that was isolated to one spot, and it felt like it was being jabbed with a sharp piece of plastic or something."

The second sting came after the plane had landed and the Sullivans were waiting for their bags at the luggage carousel. Sullivan rolled up his cuff to investigate, and the scorpion fell out.

"It felt like a shock, a tingly thing. Someone screamed, 'It's a scorpion,"' Sullivan recalled. Another passenger stepped on the two-inch arachnid, and someone suggested Sullivan seek medical help.

He scooped up the scorpion and headed to the hospital in Burlington. His wife stopped at the United counter and was told the plane they were on had flown from Houston to Chicago. The Sullivans surmised the scorpion boarded in Texas.

You would think after the first bite he would've noticed the scorpion.

Apple made a deal with 6 airlines (United, Continental, Delta, Air France, Emirates and KLM) to add an iPod connection to the seat-back displays so passengers have the capability of watching movies stored on their iPods through the duration of their flights.  Passengers will also be able to charge their iPods through this connection.

Expect to see this happen mid-2007.

Beijing businessman, Zhang Cheng, purchased a fighter jet from eBay.  He purchased the jet for $24,730 and plans to put it on display in an empty space in his offices. 

Ah, to be rich and fill empty spaces of your office with a high-priced, working fighter jet....  priceless.

It's my belief airplane makers strive to make our flights as uncomfortable as possible.  Seriously, who came up with the bright idea of designing a 'standing room only' cabin?  Just check out the picture...  It's no wonder why zero airlines have accepted this design.
