A 1994 Peterbilt truck has been converted into an Optimus Prime replica of the 2007 film version of the Autobot leader.  It's up for grabs for over $50K at eBay Canada.  The ony major downfall is that it does not transform into a robot.  Link to eBay auction.  [via ComNetSlash]

A couple guys in China built a Transformer out of a Citroen.  The Transformer weighs in at 1,322 pounds and $8,000 was spent in the construction.  [via Jalopnik]

WHOA!  I've seen tennis shoes that were inspired by the Transformers, but I've never seen any that actually transform from shoe to robot.  Notice Optimus Prime is wearing the sneakers too.

These don't look like functioning (comfortable) tennis shoes, but the concept is still very cool.

Terrible reviews and box office numbers for the July 4th weekend release of 'Superman' (yawn), made me curious to find what was on the horizon from the hills of hollyweird. Another new thriller with another devil-spawn kid with another tag line referring to another end of the world? Maybe one with a past her prime debutant who wishes she was 16 again.. and gets her wish! Perhaps a cheeky teen movie about (what else) cheerleaders... who despite the advances of all the cute guys at school, just wanna cheer gosh darn it.

What I found on the schedule for 2007 actually excited me! Coming July 4th 2007, Transformers! A movie I will actually look forward to seeing for an entire year.

Children of the 80s, Hasbro has announced they are coming out with a Transformers Classics line:

Available in November 2006, the new series of figures will feature updated versions of the first generation of TRANSFORMERS (or “G1”), inspired by the look and spirit of the original figures and characters. The line will include favorites from the original series: OPTIMUS PRIME, Bumblebee, Astrotrain and Megatron...

Each character in the TRANSFORMERS Classics line will have a more detailed face and body, resulting in a more comparable appearance to the character seen on the original TV show and animated movie.

Looking closely at the pics, I noticed that the 'Classics' are plastic, not like the original line.  My eyes could be deceiving me, but I think my vision is pretty good.  How cool would it have been to have them come out with the true originals?  Very cool.  Oh well.
