Here is a tip on bypassing the long taxi cab lines in Vegas so you can lose your money a lot faster at the tables:

Find a Skycap. Let them know they can help you with your luggage. Give the guy a nice tip and tell him you want to go to Yellow #1. Here cab drivers will get pulled out of the long cab line servicing the regular folks in order to pick you up at Yellow #1. No waiting.

Now during super crowded times even this Yellow #1 tip can have a line behind it. What do you do then, or for that matter if you want to take no chances on waiting in line? When your plane lands and the pilot allows you to turn on your cell phone, Twitter Vegas Cabbie (he is the one who gave us the above tip in the first place) and tell him your flight just landed and you will gather your luggage and meet him at Yellow #1.

He, or someone will @ reply you and by the time you get your luggage and head out to Yellow #1 your chariot will await you.

Note: I've never been to Turkey.

Defeating Jet-Lag

I've barely gotten any sleep since returning from the Philippines.  I've had no problems (at least not as severe) with jet-lag in the task, but helping a 15-month old get over his jet-lag has proven to be a daunting task.  Zach's sleeping schedule is still on Phililppine time and it has been difficult to get him back on track.  We've had a lot of sleepless nights and sleepy days.  Hopefully the both of us can recover from our jet-lag soon.

If you plan on traveling to different timezones and want to recover quickly from jet-lag, here are some helpful tips.

Vacationing in the Philippines

We are jet-lagged and silly...  Zachary and I returned from a 3-week long vacation to the Philippines just yesterday.  Our stay was longer than expected because Zach became sick (nothing serious) near the tail-end of our original departure; Zach and I stayed behind for an additional week while J had to return home to get back to work.

Eating Buko Not only was it Zach's first time on an airplane, but also his first trip to the Philippines.  I'm doubting he will remember this trip since he is only 15 months old, but we do have plenty of photos to tell him, "You did this!", when he is a little older.

The majority of our vacation was spent in my mom's hometown of San Pablo City (approximately a 2 hours drive from Manila).  It was our first time to see my parents' new home away from home--very nice.  Although we spent most of our time in San Pablo, we did take some day trips to Tagaytay, Ugu's (known for his amazing pottery) home, Manila, and the family farm.  We opted out of family beach trips because of sickness and not knowing how Zach would handle the long travels.
