Speed and Performance: ExpressVPN‘s Custom Protocol Provides a Marked Boost
One of the biggest differentiators between ExpressVPN and PureVPN is speed. Based on numerous head-to-head tests, ExpressVPN consistently maintained speeds much closer to normal when connected compared to PureVPN.
For example, when using a UK-based server, ExpressVPN only reduced my download speeds by 32% and upload speeds by 16% – quite respectable for a VPN. Ease of Use: ExpressVPN‘s Smoother Interface and Experience
To assess the user experience offered by both VPN services, I conducted hands-on testing across Windows 10 desktop, iOS, Android, and MacOS devices. Setup and basic use of both ExpressVPN and PureVPN was relatively simple on all platforms. However, I noticed ExpressVPN provided a markedly smoother and more seamless experience overall.

Evaluating customer support quality is an important part of reviewing any VPN or security tool. To compare PureVPN and ExpressVPN, I tested out the live chat function on both vendors‘ websites multiple times.
In both cases, the live chat agents were friendly and able to address my questions knowledgeably.
